More pictures of the finished bathroom

A few more detail shots. There are a few things yet to do, like put up the toilet paper holder (need to buy epoxy) and install stone light switch covers (back ordered for 4 months!), but since we hung the blind in the bathroom (neighbors are rejoicing I imagine) we're pretty much DONE after 8 months.

View from the bedroom. Still need to cut back the carpet and tack that down.  Probably won't happen until one of us trips and breaks our nose or something.

A friend cut down the right side of this vent so it would fit in the space.

Heated floors!!!  The actual temp NEVER matches the target temp - sometimes it's higher, sometimes lower. No idea, but the floors are warm!














By the way, I know why real bloggers hate blogger. This interface is impossible!

Shower doors and walls are up

With a minor glitch wherein the back glass had to be reordered which added another 5 days to the 2 months we had already waited.  Or was it 3 months?  All I know is that next Monday the glass people are going to put on the anti-streak, anti-water spot treatment, and then our bathroom will be DONE!

DONE!


What you can see from these pictures is that there is still a ladder in the bathroom, waiting for me to touch up the trim pain on the windows and doors. Oh, and I need to put some kind of window covering on the window over the toilet to protect the neighbors. Will I ever have the energy?

Oh, and we also need to fix the ceiling in the closet where Sam stepped through it.  Again.

Bathroom destruction

Let me just say now that I am firmly opposed to bathroom overfitters.  The people who installed our shower did not seal it right at all and there were TONS of molds growing between the plastic overfitted floor and the tile floor.  I wish I had gotten a picture, but I didn't.

So this is the shower floor - plastic on top of lovely white subway tile on top of concrete.

This is the awful white plastic overlayed shower parts.  TONS of horrible adhesive strips, but none around the drain.  Morons.

This is what I'm going with. 

Both from FixtureUniverse.com, Torino collection.  Will probably go with the matching towel bars and robe hooks too, but that can wait until everything else is done.

Bathroom remodel

So far, this is what is planned for our bathroom remodel:

Nantucket Dune from Tile Shop

The tiles are 1/2" wide, held together on a mesh screen.  It is really lovely stone and glass.  The light colored stone matches the 19"x19" tile for the walls and floors.  The shower floor is slightly darker than the rest of the tile in a 2"x2". 

With this sink/console (not sure about faucets yet)



Lexi from Home Depot



Home Depot is lovely - free shipping, free returns to the store if we don't like her (Lexi, the sink).  I hope we like her because she is the closest to what we want in the price range that we want to pay. My ultimate sink was from Restoration Hardware, but of course that was going to be 4xs as expensive.  So sad.

With this storage cabinet, which we will have to see how well it fits and matches Lexi.  If we keep her.

Still to decide:

• Paint color (probably a dark beige, tan, light brown color)
• Faucets - sink and shower
• Glass shower doors/enclosure
• Toilet (yes, this is a decision)

We were going to try to get a trough drain, but it is way more expensive than we thought, so just a normal drain. 

So, there you have it: our bathroom remodel so far.  The cost is choking me, but we are not DIYers, therefore we are just contributing to the economy... of our friends and family who know how to do these things!
